Keep a Food Diary - Just for Fun!
I started keeping a food journal today and it wasn’t for weight loss. Yes, I am sure that the ultimate result of this project will be weight loss, but my motivator was so that I can keep track of all the foods I eat and how they make me feel. It’s also a place to jot down recipes that I prepared and enjoyed as well as keeping track of the different wines I drink.
For example, today I had plain yogurt and clementines for breafkast. I was almost shocked to discover that I actually like yogurt plain. I felt healthy and energized after that breakfast. For a snack a few hours after that I had nuts and dried fruit. It didn’t sit well in my stomach and felt really heavy. That observation went in my notebook, as well.
Tonight when I cook dinner, I’ll write down the recipe I used if I like it. A lot of my cooking is spur-of-the-moment. I seldom follow recipes anymore. This means that when I cook I’ll need to write down the recipe as I am preparing it or else it may be lost forever.

I had to keep a very strict food diary along with my symptoms following consumption for about 2 months this summer and fall due to health reasons. It really was quite helpful in finally reaching a diagnosis as well as really helping me to realize that I didn’t eat as healthfully as I thought I did. Best of luck to you on doing this!
